meet our ceo
In 2015, Ms. Lisa Surritte, CEO & President, transferred her three decades of medical and healthcare industry knowledge, abilities, and skills to the creation of Cherokee Composites LLC. Being self-motivated, she structured her vision, mission, goals, and objectives for the firm to create a guiding Business Plan to serve the logistics of distribution and support services for manufacturing efforts in plastic and electric energy conservation products and services. Her organizational and leadership record of high-quality standards position her to win and perform contracts from corporations and governments alike.Due to a family illness shortly after launch, operations were necessarily postponed. Back in healthy and revitalized action in 2021, Lisa reactivated her business license and is focused on federal and state contracting. She has been awarded numerous small business certifications in state and federal programs to be able to compete for government contracts. Meanwhile, she expanded her network of potential partners, vendors, and staff, even during the global pandemic. She is eager to begin contract work not just for start-up revenue, but to achieve strong references for quality work, integrity in communications, an outstanding reputation in the industry, and increased work opportunities in disadvantaged communities.
UNPARRALLED PROFESSIONALISM
Specifically benefiting the company is Lisa’s professional experience as the CEO. She is a trained dental hygienist and worked for 37 years not only serving clients, but managing the administrative, purchasing, and human resources systems for a large practice. Along with her client skills, she became interested in the purchasing and management of healthcare products. This entry into supply chain dynamics allowed her to learn the connection between manufacturing, distribution, installation and project management. She also began to build relationships with equipment manufacturing and product distributors. She learned by doing. She explored the intricacies of the mechanical and management processes for successful project completion. Now she translates past duties and responsibilities to further master her business acumen and skills as a leader, manager, supervisor, and salesperson. She understands that finding the best team members with specific technical skills to match job requirements is essential. She is highly engaged in the government contracting industry and constantly receives small business development mentoring and guidance from her network. Lisa’s excellent interpersonal and communication skills motivate her and all of Cherokee’s consultants, vendors, subcontractors and team members.
Lisa oversees and trains her workforce teams while managing and directing Finance, Marketing, Operations, Office Management, and Client Relationship Building. She is also accountable for resource allocation, budgeting, cost control, payroll, general accounting, and full profit and loss results. She leads the recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and terminating of staff and has honed her mentor and leadership capabilities. Additionally, she develops marketing campaigns to increase corporate visibility and branding; analyzes market and competitor data and demographics; defines target markets and capture strategies; manages corporate resources; focuses on generating short- and long-term revenue through creative sales activities and building relationships; and still has time for community volunteering and family activities.
